How do you utilize Calendly's features to efficiently manage appointments and bookings for your small business or solo venture? Spill the beans, the tea… or really just the details if you please.

As a solopreneur, I finally decided to add my Calendly link to my email signature. Not sure why I didn’t do this from the start! It allows people to easily schedule a meeting without initiating a “scheduling convo.”

That’s a great method @RDB! It really balances putting your link out there for easy scheduling, but also gives you a lot of control over who has access to that link. Do you have a specific event type or limitations (number of days out, days of week, duration, etc.) you use for the signature link?

Yes! I use the generic “30+ Minute Meeting” event type for my signature. This is ideal for initial connections and follow-up to introductions.

As a dual-working parent (this term validates “work” within & outside of the domestic realm) who is also a solopreneur on the side, my Calendly-specific meeting schedules are limited to weekdays: lunch time / post-lunch, 7pm-9pm (this is after my family’s evening routine AND it accommodates those in other time zones). As a result, I’m a fan of scheduling weeks - even months 😬 - in advance! It’s never too early to schedule meetings/events far in advance when balancing different work & home calendars 😅

I use the heck out of the awesome Calendly functions and still feel like I’m just scratching the surface.  Here are my top ones:

  • I have calendly linked to my gmail to make linking my event types super efficient.
  • I have typing shortcuts setup as well so I can just type a few letters and up pops a few of my most used event types.
  • I have my working hours very strategically set so I don’t get overwhelmed and have time buffers set so I don’t schedule back to backs.
  • I also use the “maximum number of event types” function because my brain doesn’t work after I have more than 5 meetings a day.
  • Finally, I link calendly to zoom so I can reuse the same scheduling links for efficiency as well.

I use Calendly to book everything. It’s an embed code my on several websites. I have 29 events and more often use one-click links. Meeting polls and one-off events are also favorites. For important clients or potential clients, one-off meetings are a nice way to personalize invitations to connect.

29 events!? I just took a super brief look at your Kerbisverse site and when you say ‘everything’, you aren’t kidding. Multipotentialite definitely sums it up well! Of all the things you use Calendly for, have you found any areas where Calendly is especially effective… or ineffective?

When people actually use the reschedule or cancel links in the calendar invitation, it’s super effective at saving time. The only thing Calendly doesn’t do that I’d like it to is to integrate with SquadCast like it integrates with Zoom. I’ve already communicated with the team about it and the Zapier integration just doesn’t do what I need it to do.
