Overview
This article outlines how to change the sender email address that invitees see on Calendly notifications. Calendly uses two types of notifications, each with its own method for setting the sender or reply-to address.
Types of Notifications
- Email Confirmations: Sent from notifications@calendly.com with your Calendly login email as the reply-to address.
- Calendar Invitations: Sent from your connected calendar using the “Add to calendar” email specified on your Calendar Connection page.
Steps to Change the Sender Email Address
- Identify Notification Type
- Determine if your event types are sending Email Confirmations or Calendar Invitations.
- Change Reply-To for Email Confirmations
- Update your login email on your Account Settings page.
- Email Confirmations will continue to send from notifications@calendly.com, but replies will go to your updated login email.
- Change Sender for Calendar Invitations
- Update your “Add to calendar” connection/email on your Calendar Connection page.
- Calendar Invitations will then originate from the desired connected calendar account.
- Outlook Plugin (Windows) Compatibility
- Calendar Invitations are not compatible with the Outlook Plugin for Windows.
- Switch to Email Confirmations or use a compatible calendar connection.
- Where You Receive Confirmations
- Your booking confirmations are always sent to your login email.
- Events are added to the calendar set as “Add to calendar.” These emails do not need to match.
Key Notes & Limitations
- Email Confirmations always send from notifications@calendly.com; only the reply-to changes based on your login email.
- Calendar Invitations use the email address of your connected “Add to calendar” account as the sender/reply-to.
- Changing your login email does not change Calendar Invitations; you must update the Add to calendar connection.
- Calendar Invitations are not compatible with the Outlook Plugin for Windows.
- Your login email (for confirmations you receive) and your Add to calendar email do not need to match.
