Im currently using Calendly integrated with Google Calendar, which plugs into my CRM. Right now events are being created in Google Calendar using big long crazy random strings as the event organiser. For eg lkmeh01p1bst3m6rn0acrfqge0@group.calendar.google.com

This is causing problems in the CRM because the CRM only shows bookings associated with assigned emails. So, put simply, unless the event is booked and my email is listed as the event organiser - I dont see it!

Which means I am not seeing any booked calls in the CRM which is a huge problem!

I would have thought that I could simply edit the event in Calendly and add my own email address but no - that doesnt seem possible.

I can see other customers asking for the same thing in other threads so I know Im not alone with this. Is this something that can be sorted out ASAP?

TLDR - I need to FORCE an email into an event type in Calendly so it can be matched with Google Calendar and my CRM.

Hi @John Romaine - Thanks for reaching out and reporting this.

That definitely seems unexpected, is it showing like this for both the invitee and your own email? Or just your own email?

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend disconnecting and reconnecting your Calendar over on your Availability page here: https://calendly.com/app/availability/calendar_settings
I’d like to see if this allows for new booked events to appear as expected.

If this doesn’t work, and it continues to appear as a random string, can you take a screenshot of the event as it shows in your calendar and send it over to our support team? They’ll be able to take a closer look into the specific booking from there! You can either chat in, or email support@calendly.com

Let me know if you have any questions!

I’ve just checked and my Calendar is connected correctly (I can see my Gmail email address listed) However when events are created, the event organizer is showing as -

lkmeh01p1bst3m6rn0acrfqge0@group.calendar.google.com

I reached out to the support team at Close.com (my CRM) and they said this...

By default, Calendly uses a Google service account to create the event, which is why you see that random string of letters/numbers as the "organizer." It’s not actually using your own Google account to generate the calendar entry.

Shouldn’t the event organizer be my Gmail email?

Any suggestions?

The organizer should be your gmail in this case, as I’ve seen this process work correctly for other users who utilize CRM’s. I would check with our support team to see what they can find when those events are created!

Im trying to submit a support request but Im going in circles with this AI agent. This is beyond frustrating.

Hi @John Romaine - Wanted to follow up and see if you were ever able to get in touch? I can follow up with them directly if you haven’t already!

Ive submitted a support request but haven’t heard back from anyone. I still have this problem.
