Availability issues - free when I should be busy

I marked my schedule as ‘busy’ during 8:00 am - 5:00 pm in my personal google calendar, and it normally works fine… But, today, on my Calendly booking page, it is only showing 8:00 am - 10:00 am as busy and then 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm as busy… Troubleshoot says that the times shown as busy are due to the ‘busy’ status market in personal calendar, but Troubleshoot is not giving any reason for the middle hours of the day not blocked as these are shown as available...

Hey there @Imran77 - thanks for your post!

I’m sorry to hear about your availability issues. The troubleshooting tool is great for finding out why you are unavailable when you should be free, but not for showing why you are available when you should be busy. Sorry about the confusion!

The first thing I suggest trying is double checking your Google calendar to make sure those middle hours are actually marked “busy.” Sometimes, we see users name an event “busy” on their calendar without noticing it’s marked “free.” Calendly will view your Google events with this "busy" event status as scheduling conflicts and will automatically remove the time from your scheduling page (including all-day or multi-day events). You can access and change this setting by double-clicking on the event id in your calendar and changing the status from "free" to "busy" as shown below:

If the events are all marked “busy” I would suggest trying the following:

  • Head to your Calendar Connection page
  • Disconnect your Google Calendar
  • Clear your cache/cookies (steps below)
  • Reconnect your Google Calendar
  • Check again to see if it’s correctly picking up your busy times

P.s. I updated the name of your topic so it was more clear for others to benefit from! =)

Thanks a lot, Kelsi, for the reply. The first part solved my problem. Actually, nowadays, these airlines automatically book the flight time into your calendars and that's what they did for those mid-day hours, but they did not mark the calendar as 'busy' and only put in the event. As soon as I changed it to 'busy', the problem got solved.

Many thanks for your kind help.

Regards,

I.B.

@Imran77 I am so glad to hear this! Now you know to always check your calendar events to make sure they are “busy” if they should be conflicts. Cheers to easy scheduling!
