Question

Collecting Tax

I’ve inquired multiple times over the years about when Calendly is going to incorporate collecting tax on paid events. Since Stripe is already an integration, it’s easy to enable Stripe Tax (https://stripe.com/en-ca/tax) and have appropriate tax rules apply. It’s the least amount of effort required to implement tax rules for events that collect a fee.

Hi @Jordan - Thanks for reaching out.

At this time, Calendly does not calculate or collect VAT or sales tax. If needed, include tax in the event price or add tax details to your payment terms.

I can get this passed along to our product team as feedback, hopefully this is something we’ll see in the future!

Hello David,

I’ve already submitted a support ticket for the last three years, requesting updates. Still, I haven’t been given anything concrete, as an ETA or even if it’s being considered.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that is not a viable solution and could lead to more significant tax/VAT implications, so I suggest avoiding this approach in the future.

Calendly doesn't need to calculate or collect TAX/VAT. With Stripe as an integration, it already supports collection and rules to collect tax appropriately. However, Calendly hasn’t enabled this feature for the Stripe integration.
