Question

Date-specific hours/Date overrides have disappeared from Availability menu in account settings

I went to add a date override today and I could not do it. I tried on my phone and PC, and the option was not there. This is a disaster for me, as I have irregular and frequently changing availability. This is urgently impacting me and for now I have to stop using calendly.

What has changed and is there any fix? Or am I simply missing something?

I understand that you can add custom days off using the “time off” feature but I need to change my available hours on a weekly basis.

Picture from my phone but the same thing happens on my PC.

Hi @Siri15785,

Yes, an update is in the process of incrementally being rolled out to customers that moves availability and date overrides to within the event type, instead of at the global level (with the exception of holidays and time off; those are still at the global level).

Within the new experience, the global Meeting Hours setting is intended to set universal availability across all your event types. If you'd like to have some event types with availability that differs from your global setting, you may set date-specific hours and use the Apply hours from option within your individual event settings as shown below:

Thanks for the speedy reply. I want to change universal availability across all event types in one go, since I have dozens of event types and my availability is different every week.

I see that you can “apply hours from” other event types, which reduces the admin somewhat, but it’s still a headache to have to do this with all events all the time. For me this is not an upgrade!

I’m going to have to look into alternatives to Calendly, since I imagine this is a permanent change.

Thank you for your assistance.

Please revert to the original ability to create date and time overrides that apply to all events. It was SO easy and I have 12 events and do not want to have to do this 12 times!  You should speak with users before making these changes.  The overrides have disappeared!  Why?  I should not be spending 30 minutes trying to figure out how to do this and coming upon this post.  Do a Google search and see how many people are posting and asking this question.

How do I switch back to the original time override?  The new “Holiday” feature is useless as a replacement/override for the original availability blocking.

Just because of this one upddate I will be  definetly looking for another tool to use. It’s so upsetting that such a wonderful tool is being a reason of frustration. Completly disagree with this idea. Makes it all so complicated and adds so much more work !

The date over rides and calendar view has gone .... bring this back this upgrade is a downgrade so long winded and not user friendly at all ..... I need to book time for myself not against an event and this is now useless ...... if it does not revert back then I will be looking elsewhere as this is no longer workable ...

Cannot believe the availability override or custom availability is now gone. I, like others, will cancel my account if this is not fixed!  I agree...check with users before making changes. This one was a very bad idea.

I’ve never seen an update that has made a product so much worse! Now we have to go into every type of event to change the date-specific hours? PLEASE restore the ability to change date-specific hours at a macro level or I, too, will stop my paid subscription.

Making date/time overrides difficult ignores how humans actually manage their schedules. I can’t use Calendly if date/time overrides are not easy--it takes a tool that made my life easier and makes it add complexity to my life. Not good software design.

Oui merci de remettre une fonction qui permet de modifier des dates et heures pour TOUS les évènements. C’est vraiment trop fastidieux de faire des modifications pour chaque évenement : grosse perte de temps pour un outil supposé nous en faire gagner !!!

Here to concur with others that the inability to do date/time overrides in the new system is definitely a downgrade. I, too, will be looking for another tool if this functionality isn’t reinstated. My calendar changes week by week and I need a tool that anticipates this, making my life simpler rather than more complicated. This was the whole reason I used this tool over others.

This “update” has made Calendly inefficient for me. Like others, my schedule changes frequently. I need to be able to view the monthly calendar and to block times on individual days.
