Over the past month, we have seen a massive increase in our Spam bookings with absolutely no documentation on how to prevent this… Is there any way to prevent this? We are aware we can report them but this has NO affect and it has gotten to the point where we are looking at alternatives outside of Calendly as we have just been caught in a loop trying to get ahold of support. The chatbot asks us to login when we are already logged in and then gives us an error when we click the sign in button. I have 20+ clients having issues with this and the only thing I can find is 4 months ago they put in a feature request for recaptcha… Absolutely no update on this, a few days away from telling all my clients to cancel and move to a different platform when we find a better solution. Any suggestions are appreciated!
Hi
Regarding the chatbot issue, what error is it showing you when you attempt to log in? Does this happen in any other browsers or through an incognito window? I’ve seen a couple other posts on this so I’ve been trying to track that issue down.
In regards to spam, we have been working on rolling out some invitee limit and block listing features, however I don’t have an ETA on this at this time.
Depending on how you've shared your link, here are some steps we normally share regarding spam:
- Changing the event URL, and sharing a new event link.
- Alternatively, if you have shared your personal scheduling page- and not the event-specific link- you could make the event secret which would ensure it did not appear on your main scheduling page. Any invitees would need to use the event-specific link to access your booking page, which would only be provided by you.
- In the future, I would also suggest sharing single-use links for specific event types. With single-use links, meeting links will expire once used and invitees will not be able to book another.
Additionally, your booking pages will automatically assess each new booking using reCAPTCHA v3. Only bookings that have been flagged as spam by our automated bot detection (reCAPTCHA v3) will see a challenge.
Let me know if you have any questions on this!
