A client scheduled an appointment with me and invited another person, inadvertently mistyping their contact’s email address. There used to be a way to edit the email address, but I cannot find a way to now. Any suggestions?
Hi
At this time, there is only the option to edit the main invitee’s email address from the meetings page here:

If another person was added as a guest, there are two things we can do here:
- You can reschedule the event and update the email
- You can edit the event in your Google calendar and add the guests email there
However, being able to make changes to guest emails is a good idea, I’ve passed this on to our product team to review! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks, David, for your quick reply. I’m having the main invitee just forward his reminders to his contact. It’s the best and quickest fix I could find.
Hi David, I’ve had the same issue that Crystal listed above where a client has scheduled a meeting and invited a guest but mistyped their email address causing them not to receive the invite. I use Google Workspace which syncs with my Google Calendar. I’ve gone in my Google Calendar and updated the guest’s email address on my end. However, because it’s still in Calendly incorrectly (until the product team creates a way to to change it in the system), the automated reminders and workflows tied to the scheduled event/meeting will continue to go to the wrong email address as well. So the issue extends beyond the workaround of correcting the Google Calendar, we really need a way to correct it within Calendly because everything that’s connected to that event won’t work either. I would also stipulate being able to add and remove guests from the invite as well. At a minimum the Calendly account owner and/or meeting host/user should have the ability to manage invitees and guests (without invitees or account owner cancelling and rescheduling the event).
Hi
Yes I can see how this would bring a ton of value to the product - I’ve passed your feedback along to our product team so they can review.
Being able to adjust the guests emails without rescheduling the event would make these adjustments much easier. If you have any other points of feedback I’d be happy to send it over as well!
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks, PamelaK0623. I’m glad I’m not the only one. :)
I’ve been thinking about this issue more intently, beyond just the inconvenience. This issue could potentially be a security issue, data control, or privacy issue as well. The fact that the account owner/manager/admin can edit the email of the guest that scheduled the meeting but not the additional guests creates a potential risk where the only mitigation is to cancel the entire event whereas the options should include the ability to edit, delete, and add additional guests should also be available. There are many scenarios where these additional features could me appropriately used but at a minimum for security reasons. With the integration of Google (for example) to use workflows and automations for scheduling and reminders, my client had a typo in the email address for her coworker that she added as a guest to the meeting she scheduled through calendly but when the invite was scheduled and processing through my Google calendar and email integrations, I started getting delivery failure notifications and even though I fixed it directly in my Google calendar, it kept happening because I couldn’t fix it in Calendly and the workflows/automations kept pushing it through. I couldn’t reach my client to fix it because she wasn’t available but at the same time, as the account owner, I shouldn’t need to ask my client to fix something that is tied to my account. Now, from a larger issue, and I’m glad this hasn’t happened to me but imagine spammer taking advantage of this situation and maliciously exploiting this vulnerability or lack of control for account owners. This could cause havoc. So if you could raise this concern to the product team as a security risk which is far more greater than a simple inconvenience. I would really appreciate it. I am willing to speak with them as well and test out the solutions they come up with so that they know, I am not just presenting a problem and recommending a fix, I want to help find a solution that will support other customers as well.
