Frustrated by removing "Schedules"

I’m frustrated Calendly removed the “Schedules” functionality. I hold an event once a month for an hour where I want to be only available for that event and not allow any other event types from scheduling something.

I used to be able to do this, but Calendly removed the feature with an update.

Support told me I could manually input these specific dates on every other event type (8-10 of them). This would take hours. It’s should be really easy to set a schedule and apply it to multiple event types. The time off feature is useless because it blocks it across ALL event types. I can already do that on my own calendar.

Is this something other people were using? If so, please let Calendly support know or comment below.

Hey @outdoorhiking,

Thanks for the feedback. We have a growing collection of similar topics here in Community and yes, we hear your feedback and others. We’re passing everything along to Product to help inform upcoming releases and roadmap, so thank you for sharing.

Agreed! I have two different types of meetings I need to be available for in calendly. Each type has 5 or 6 scheduling links. So now I have to update my availability for each of those 5 or 6 different links. Adding features I get - but just taking away features with no communication or warning is frustrating.

I also agree. I came here to see if I had missed something in where the schedules had gone.

This has caused a major headache and I’m weighing up whether to put the effort into updating all the event types or just to switch to other software. Pretty disappointed.

Same here, I couldn't believe they'd have introduced such a regression in the user experience. But yes, they have. All the custom schedules have seemingly been deleted without even bothering to send a notification, while it was possible before to easily assign a different schedule to an event, for example when travelling (to avoid deleting the usual schedule). The right-panel custom schedule editing is unusable compared to the calendar view which worked well (luckily still there for the default schedule). Whoever came up with this terrible change should be let go (it is that bad).

It's super frustrating when a feature that made life easier suddenly disappears. Having a way to block off time just for your monthly event without messing with the rest of your schedule would definitely save a ton of time. Manually adding dates to every event type is definitely a pain, and the "time off" feature just isn’t cutting it. Hopefully, more people chime in, and Calendly takes notice – it would make such a big difference!

Same here. This change has completely disrupted our way of operating.

We have a team with multiple round robin event types, and each team member had a separate calendar in their profiles for each event type. As team members, they cannot access to the configuration of the event type (nor do we want them to have), they used to manage their availability from their profiles, and now they can’t!

who’s idea was it to remove the one of the most core features to have different calendar schedules for a calendar app!

Hopefully this feature will return soon. Otherwise, I have to consider looking at another software after all. Who makes this up to remove this option unannounced. This is really bizarre.

Would agree with all those who have posted about this feature “update” being both a surprise (no notice or communication) and also a “downgrade” from functionality standpoint. I work for a USA based company remotely from Europe and from the USA. So I have a specific schedule for when I’m in Europe - so I don’t have calls running too late, and then a separate schedule for USA. The removal of specific schedules has definitely been a major disruption and requires manually updating the schedule every time I travel which is 5-7 times per year at least. Would hope this “update” is restored back to it’s original functionality soon.

Hi all - Thanks for your feedback thus far. With some of these changes I did want to point out another feature that was adjusted to make changing event specific schedules a little easier. With the updated event editor, you have the ability to copy or apply schedules to/from other event types in your account. You can find this setting here:

With this editor, you can copy the schedule from other events, so you’re not having to make the same change over and over again.

Still, we appreciate all the feedback, if you have any other questions, let us know.

Hey,

I’m glad I’m not the only one confused and frustrated with this change. I agree it’s a core of how I was using Calendly.  It feels like yet another change to force people to purchase more accounts. Maybe I’m wrong about that.

I submitted a ticket on this (since there was no warning) over a week ago and haven’t even had an acknowledgement that someone is looking into it.

Up until this point I was very happy with this product but now I’m going to be looking at alternatives. I hope that this change is reversed.

Hi @outdoorhiking! Circling back here to let you know that you can create additional schedules again. Your feedback made a difference.

FYI - You can also find and apply former schedules to events by selecting the dropdown arrow on your Availability page. Thanks again for helping us improve Calendly.
