Goal: trying to get data analytics on a funnel view of when users a) visit my page b) what % of them drop off or end up booking c) source which website they’re coming from
Context: I came across this help center article and i’ve done the following
1) Add measurement ID on Calendly for the integration
Question: do I need to embed Calendly on a personal website to get the analytics or can the data from my calendly page just populate on Google Analytics? After adding the measurement ID on Calendly, I checked the Realtime data reporting tab and didn't see anything populate.
Hi
After adding your measurement ID it can take upwards of 24-48 hours for it to update fully. It does not need to be embedded on your site to work.
Has it already been past that time frame? Let me know! I can look into some other steps from there.
Hi David, yes it’s been > 48 hrs. To summarize the steps I took to help you in diagnosing.
1. Created GA account and got a measurement ID
2. Added measurement ID # into field on Calendly + GA integration page
On GA it says I’d need to add a tag on the website to get anything in the data stream which makes sense. But how would I do that on my Calendly link if I don’t control the source code.
Okay got it - Thanks for checking this.
For context, When you integrate Google Analytics with your Calendly account, Javascript tracking code is automatically added to your Calendly scheduling page, this is done automatically through our end, so you won’t need to control the source code.
The next couple things I would check are
- In Google Analytics:
-
Go to Reports > Realtime in the left navigation.
-
Browse your Calendly page. You should see your own browsing activity on these pages.
-
Since Calendly fires 'events', you can view the events fired in the last 30 minutes from the
Event count by Event name
card. -
From the
Event count by Event name
card, you can select a specific event to see more details about it, including what specific Calendly page it is coming from.
- If this does not display any events, you can also test your scheduling pages using Googles Tag Assistant Tool: https://tagassistant.google.com/.
- If neither of these show any changes, the next step would be to contact our Support Team with some additional information so they can look into this further: Here are some questions you’ll want to fill out and send to support@calendly.com:
-
Please provide a screenshot of the web stream details & measurement ID page within Google Analytics.
-
This will be located under
Admin
>Data Streams
> Select the specific Stream to verify the measurement ID & details
-
-
If you have created any custom events: please provide a screenshot of the details so that we can verify that your matching conditions are correct.
-
Are you scheduling events through an embedded Calendly page on your website? Are you sending your invitees your Calendly link or directing them to your website?
-
If you send your invitees to your website, please confirm the link to your site where the scheduling page is located.
-
-
Are your invitees in the EU?
-
Please also send a screenshot of the
Reports
>Engagement
>Events
?
Let me know if you have any questions!
