I have multiple calendars in google, and I’m concerned which one Calendly will use.

I don’t want to not book appointments because some random relative has a birthday that day and my mom marked their birthday as busy, or miss an appointment because someone in my family calendar has a dentist appointment and my wife is busy.

Will Calendly make a “Calendly” calendar in my google, or should I do that and somehow connect them?

Hi @Gary85563

I totally understand your hesitation. Scheduling can quickly become a quagmire when you have multiple calendars and various parties adding events to each.

When you first set up your Calendly account you will manually identify which calendars to connect to. Calendly will not make a new calendar for you nor will it automatically connect to all your calendars. Calendly is a tool that sits on top of existing calendars. It functions primarily to streamline scheduling and managing availability for certain meeting types. If you aren’t worried about double booking events from one of the calendars you mentioned, I would suggest setting up a new calendar and connecting that to Calendly. Alternatively, you can also tell Calendly which bookings to ignore in your connected calendars. This feature is under Free/busy rules in your Event Type settings. More on that Here. I hope this helps alleviate any consternation. Calendly is supposed to make things easier not more complicated! There is a little bit of initial set up involved but once you’ve done that it is set it and forget it. If you have any other concerns feel free to let us know here and we will get you answers as best we can.
