Today I hosted an event with 80 attendees, but I as not able to act as the host in Google Meet. Only as a participant. I am the owner of the Calendly account and use the same email for my Google Meet. Is the higher number of attendees an issue?
Hi
This shouldn’t be caused by the amount of attendees, but I’ve seen users run into this before, in this case, I would check these options:
1. Was the event created by the Google Meet integration, or was it a custom location? (You can check this by going to the event settings)
2. Is the same account you’re joining the meeting as the same account thats connected as the calendar? (https://calendly.com/app/availability/calendar_settings)
3.If the link was generated, and added as a location in Calendly, do you know which account created it?
Let me know!
Thanks @David

Custom Location (see screenshot)

Yes, it is the same email account.

I do not understand this question. Are you asking me if the link was manually generated and then added to the Calendly event? If I understand this question correctly, my answer is No, the link was not manually generated and then added to Calendly.
Important Note: After the event, I DID receive a recording which to me, suggests it did see me as some sort of owner no?
Background: My greatest issue is that I was presenting and forced to keep letting people into the meeting. Any advice on how to just set it to ‘let the people who signed up with a link into the meeting without me approving them to join’?
Hi
Couple things - To address your biggest issue, this is an option on Google Meet’s side that you can adjust. You can refer to the steps here: https://xfanatical.com/blog/how-do-i-enable-the-waiting-room-feature-in-google-meet/
The steps walk you through turning on the “Waiting Room”, but if you switch the option to “Open” it should allow those participants to join in automatically.
I also wanted to point out, if you’d like Calendly to automatically generate the meeting links for your events, instead of using the Custom Location option, you can use Google Meet as the location:

This ensures that any meeting links are generated by the Google calendar thats connected.
Let me know if you have any questions!
