Question

iCloud calendar sync no longer possible?

Hello there,

I would like to sync my iCloud calendar with Calendly so that Calendly knows when I already have appointments scheduled. However, following these steps, I encounter the problem that iCloud sync is not selectable anywhere. Only Google, Outlook, and Exchange calendar sync options are offered. The same issue arises under Integrations & Apps >> Calendars, where no iCloud sync can be found either.

Is there another way to do this?

Thanks
Oliver

Hi @OliverG,

Unfortunately at this time Calendly does not support iCloud synchronization. We are really sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Is this permanent or temporary?

Hi @OliverG,

Unfortunately at this time Calendly does not support iCloud synchronization. We are really sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

This is really sad.
Why lock out the potential of the whole potential apple community and user?

Hi @Damion18718, this is a change for the foreseeable future. If Calendly decides to go in another direction I will return here and update you.

That is a super bad desicion and also badly communicated. Today I got a mail message that my iCloud Calender was not conntected anymore to Calendly, I couln’t use my app specific password anymore. I then wanted to connect it again and wasn’t able to do so. A lot of clients use my links at the moment and now I have to deactivate all of my calendly events. I don’t know how you can do that like this, unbelievable!

Returning to this to give you an update. First we want to validate the frustration that comes with an unexpected change and recognize that while iCloud may no longer be available for new users, it was never our intention to remove the iCloud connection method from existing users.

We’ve been working internally and have found a workable resolution. You can now connect your iCloud calendar to Calendly using the following link:

www.calendly.com/app/personal/availability/connected_calendars/icloud/new

If you have any issues with the link, please clear your browser’s cache and cookies, and try again. Should you still experience any difficulties, don’t hesitate to reach out. You can return here or reach out to support directly as they can diagnose your issue live via chat → Contact Customer Support

Hi there, I’m still having issues with my icloud calendar being connected to calendly.

It was working normally a few days ago, but now I see the same issue as OP. Is there anything that can be done?

I started experiencing issues suddenly yesterday. I thought this must be a one-off glitch, but today same issues again, with clients writing to me not able to book sessions, having to do it manually and wasting time sending invoices. I had a look and I was shocked to read about the plan to discontinue iCloud. Of course this came with a promise that for existing users, it would be supported, but it doesn’t seem like it.

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the iCloud Calendar using the link you provided above, and although I managed to reconnect it and everything seemingly looks in order, I’m still seeing the message “This calendar is currently unavailable” on the booking page.

The fact that iCloud is no longer properly supported was never communicated to me formally, and since I primarily use iCloud Calendar for all my work, this has put me in a very difficult situation, causing significant frustration for both myself and my clients, who are now unable to book sessions. This is incredibly stressful, and stunningly unprofessional.

This is a substantial change to a core feature of your service, and it should have been communicated far more clearly, much earlier, and with fair alternatives for paying users. I’ve been a devoted Calendly user and a real evangelist, bringing many other professionals onboard, and have relied on it for my work for years. However, this feels like a slap in the face and has seriously impacted my trust in your service.

I hope you are putting all your resources on addressing this as quickly as possible, because every minute counts and loses business to your users. If it cannot be resolved, I hope you communicate this promptly and clearly, and I believe that at the minimum a full refund of the annual subscription should be offered, allowing paying users the option to move to a different service.

Hi @veriensis, the issue you are describing is quite difficult to diagnose on a forum like this but I would suggest actually disconnecting and reconnecting. Usually when a calendar is “unavailable” it is actually a 503 error which is on the calendar’s side. That would put you in the territory of Apple Support. I’m sorry this has been stressful and I wish I had a simpler answer for you. Hi, I logged out and reconnected, but the appointments set on calendly are not added to the calendar, or it doesn't read when I'm already busy and sets two or three appointments in the same slot, how can I resolve this?

Thank you
