Hey there @Olivier06028 - thanks for your post. This is a great question!
While there is not a specific feature in Calendly for deliberating determining a delay between bookings on an event or between two event types as you have described here, there are several event type settings that you can take advantage of to hopefully make this goal a reality. Let’s go over them!
- Date range: within each event type, at any point, you can set the date range so that it only allows bookings out to a certain point in time (specifying calendar days or days in general, or within a specific date range - i.e. from X date to X date, as well). This can be found under “Scheduling Settings > Date Range”.
- Date specific hours: within the availability section of each event type, rather than setting up weekly hours that automatically apply week-to-week, you can set date specific hours. Using this tool you can determine that each even type is available for one week at a time, two weeks at a time etc. rather than from X time to X time each day each week!
- Minimum notice: you can sit a minimum notice of time required before a booking. Example: you can set it so that when an invitee goes to book an event, they cannot book sooner than 3 days from the date/time they are actively on your booking page. This can be set to a minimum number of minutes, hours or days. I am not sure this last one will help in your specific use case but it could be good info to have - so I included it!
So! Let’s break down how you can pair numbers 1 + 2 and meet your goal.
- Set your date range to whatever you desire it to be. Do you want these two event types to be indefinitely able to be booked? Do you want them to both be available for booking through the summer and then cut off? This is the setting that can make that a reality.
- I believe the date specific hours setting will be the real hero, here. You can use this setting to implement alternating two-weeks-long periods that each event type is available for booking. I am including a short video below that displays how because it might feel slightly complicated until you see it in action (but is easy and won’t take more than a couple of minutes - tops!).
Phew - there we go! I truly believe this is going to be the best (and possibly only), most viable workaround for your use case and goal - and I do think it’ll actually work out really well for you once you set it all up! Let me know how it goes - and if you have questions!
Have a great day!

Hey Kelli,
Thanks for your suggestions.
I understand what I can do with your helpful video, but my requirements are not for me, they are for the people that will go through the process of this “meeting chain”.
If a person schedule a one-off meeting of type 1 (the beginning of the chain), it could only schedule the next meeting in the chain (the 2nd event type) after the delay I would have specified.
I need this to not restrict my schedule.
Thanks again.
Olivier.
Hey @Olivier06028 - totally understand. I’m really sorry I do not have a better workaround for you right now! I will mark this post as feedback for our product team so they can be made aware of the requirement for future consideration. I hope you have a good evening and weekend!
