We’re a Bridal Boutique specialising in wedding dresses, and we’ve set up an Event called Appointment to allow brides-to-be to book a personal, one-to-one 2-hour fitting session in our boutique. To help us plan effectively, we’d like to know the date and time of each client’s wedding when they book their appointment. This gives us a clear idea of how much time we have to help them choose and receive their perfect dress.

Since it can take several months from ordering a gown to final delivery, understanding the wedding timeline is essential. We want to avoid setting false expectations around dress delivery, so collecting at least the wedding date—ideally also the time—is very important at the time of booking.

In the Event Invitee Form, the current available Answer Types are:

  • One Line

  • Multiple Lines

  • Radio Buttons

  • Checkboxes

  • Dropdown

  • Phone Number

We’ve tried using the One Line field to ask for the wedding date and time, but this allows for a wide range of free-text responses, which can create validation issues (e.g. “22 Feb at 1” vs. “Feb 22 - 13pm”).

Has anyone found a good way to capture both date and time reliably using these existing options? Or is a dedicated date/time question type planned for future release?

We’d appreciate any suggestions or workarounds others may have found helpful.

Hi @Jane_Barn_Bridal - Thanks for reaching out and leaving this feedback!

I can get this sent off to our product team so they can review, hopefully in the future we can get a better question field for this.

In the meantime, the one thing I’ve seen some users do is separate the Month, Date and Year into different questions. That way, if the information is exported, it shows more accurately instead of a different range of answers.

In this case, you can have Months as a Drop Down question, and Date & Year as one line questions.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
