I want my invited users to only be able to view and edit events that are set up for them advance—not to be able to create new events from scratch. Is there a way to turn those permissions off?

Hey there
At this time, no, there is no way to prevent users in your Calendly organization from creating their own individual event types within their accounts. Users will also maintain the ability to manage their own calendar connections, Availability Schedules, integrations like Zoom and so on.
