I would like to know, if there is a way where I can limit the number of reservations an invitee can book per calendar month ?
Thanks

Hey there @Think24603 - thanks for your post. This is a great question 💡, and you certainly aren’t the first Calendly Community Pal to ask it!

At this time there is not a way to block invitees from booking or limit the number of times a specific invitee can book with you. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, here!

That said, there are some ways that you can take control of who is booking with you and when!

Check out these tools and workarounds:

  • One-Off Meeting types offer a quick and flexible way to host a one-time meeting that doesn't match your regular event type configurations -- when you set up a one-off meeting, you can use key event type settings like location, hosts, timing, and more. All one-off meeting types use single-use links, so only the invitee you send the link to can book -- once they do, the link becomes inactive! This is a great way to take control of bookings that you want to prioritize over other event types.
  • Making your event types secret results in the event types not appearing on your public booking page -- in this case, only those invitees that you directly Share Your Calendly Link with will be able to book these secret event types.
  • Calendly Routing Forms allow you to set up questions for invitees to answer > set up routing logic that, based on the invitee’s answers to those questions, results in auto-routing invitees to the event type/s that you’d prefer they book.
    • Paired with making event types secret (you can use this tool with secret ETs), routing forms can guarantee invitees are booking where and when you want them to! This can look something like the below:
      • Make even types secret > create a routing form > create form questions + routing logic > have invitees automatically routed to the secret event types for booking (rather than sharing a booking link that displays all of your live event types)
    • Alternatively (or additionally!), you can set up routing logic that leads an invitee to a custom message explaining that there are no bookings available at the time and asking that they try again later.
  • Our Customize Once and Share tool lets you customize event type settings (such as: duration, available hours, name, start time increments, payment collection and more) for a specific invitee without needing to make an entirely new event type!
    • Paired with making event types secret (you can use this tool with secret ETs), this can guarantee invitees book only when and where you want them to.
    • Customize Once and Share also results in a single-use link + an ability to share the customized ET with one invitee, rather than sharing a live link to an live event type available to all.
  • Calendly Meeting Polls combines both voting and scheduling in a few simple steps:
    • You create your meeting details and offer times to meet.
    • People vote on their preferred times.
    • You choose the best time, and Calendly schedules the meeting for you.
      • This results in an ability to set up a meeting with multiple invitees rather than, for example, sharing a link to a true Group Event Type on your live booking page
      • This gives you more control over whom is booking with you and when, as only those that you share the meeting poll with will be able to vote and attend the meeting
    • You can use meeting polls to book “one to many” (one host > many invitees, like Group ETs) or multi-host meetings!
  • Changing the URL of your event type when an invitee has booked too many times can help avoid certain spam and abuse - when you change the URL, you’ll need to share the new URL with whomever you do wish to allow to book and the old URL will lead to a dead page
  • You can create a single-use link for any and all event types when sharing your Calendly link -- do this as often as you can/want to in order to avoid sharing the live booking page link if you are experiencing issues with over bookings/abuse/spam

I hope that this list of tools, features and ideas helps you rein-in the spam bookings you must inevitably be experiencing. I’m sorry there’s not a more direct approach, such as simply limiting the number of bookings a single invitee can create, but these workarounds have proven successfully useful for countless Calendly Customers before you. Good luck!
