I need to allow folks to book on my calendar for a variety of meeting types and lengths, but limit the overall amount of hours booked (inclusive of several meeting types). I also need to have separate booking options that are not limited in the total number of hours booked. Right now, I can control the total number of hours booked for an individual meeting type, but not for a group of meeting types or globally. Here’s my situation as an example:
I want to offer up to 10 hours of office hours time per week to allow me to still have time for my other work. However, students might need 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or an hour. I want them to be able to choose to book however much time they need, BUT I don’t want to have more than 10 hours of office hours a week show up on my calendar.
At the same time, I also need to be able to have booking options for colleagues, which I don’t want to limit.

Currently, I can’t determine a way to do this in Calendly, and even though I’ve been a user for a long time and rely on it heavily, I’m going to have to look to a different scheduling solution. Is this being developed? Am I just missing this feature somewhere? I don’t want to jump ship, but my calendar is unmanageable as is.

Hi @Dr.66604,

At this time Calendly doesn’t offer meeting limits based on total event time. This is a good idea however and I’ve marked this post as a feature request in our system. I’ll make sure our product team sees this feedback when considering feature updates.

That said, what I’ve seen other users do is create group meetings that coordinate with office hours, or increments of office hours. With group events you can limit the total headcount of people signing up. This offers you some control over how many people you can sign up to meet with you at any given hour or set of hours. Apologies we don’t have the exact solution you described. I hope this helps!

I appreciate the reply, but unfortunately that isn’t a workaround. My office hours are not group events, and I am looking to limit how many hours of meetings students can place on my calendar total, whether they’re booking 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour. I need to offer flexible amounts of time to students, but limit the total amount of time I am booked for those types of events.
It’s too bad, but this is a dealbreaker for me.
