I have several collective events with a colleague—I’m based in Belfast, and he’s in Melbourne. We use collective events to ensure he’s included on invites, even if he doesn’t need to actively participate. He just needs to be aware of the meetings.

 

However, I’m running into an issue: I need to schedule a customer support call in GMT. I’m available, but my colleague is asleep during that time. Because collective events require all hosts to be available, there are no available time slots—even though he doesn’t need to attend.

 

Is there a way to override the requirement that all hosts must be available for a collective event? Or is there a different event type that would allow this kind of setup (where one host is optional or just included for visibility)?

In this case, a lot of users will utilize our Email Reminder to someone else workflow to send notifications to other users who are optional for the meeting. This way, you can still link them all the information from the booking, but they’ll have the option to join or not.
