I want to change the location of a meeting that’s already been accepted by my invitee. I know I can open the event in “scheduled events,” and then use “Reschedule” to make the change. However this particular meeting doesn’t have the “Reschedule” option. What do I do and why is “reschedule” not there?
Hey there
Because you mentioned that this particular invitee “accepted” the event and also that there is no “reschedule” option I have to ask, was this a One-Off Meeting type? If so, that would explain the lack of “reschedule” button!
One-off Meetings offer a quick and flexible way to host a one-time meeting that doesn't match your regular event type configurations. When you set up a One-off Meeting, you can use key event type settings like location, hosts, timing, and more.
This type of meeting is useful when you need to:
-
-
quickly schedule a non-standard meeting with one or more hosts
-
offer your invitee times that fall outside of your regular availability
-
give a meeting higher priority over your existing meetings.
-
Note
A one-off meeting's date range cannot exceed 3 months.
One off meetings are locked into place once they are sent out and booked by the invitee. Once the invitee “accepts” (books) a time out of the time blocks offered, the one-off meeting moves from the “pending” section in your “scheduled events” and appears under the “upcoming” section. However, it does not function the same way a one-on-one event type does (or other regular event types). In order to “reschedule” this meeting you’ll need to fully cancel it and send out a new one-off meeting invite to the invitee.
Alternatively, you could use our Customize Once and Share tool on an existing one-on-one event type to send out an invite to this invitee. This would result in the same ability to send a customized, one-time (single use link) meeting invite to your invitee as well as retain the ability to reschedule and so on.
I hope this helps!
Hi Kelsi. I’ve already watched your new user videos. For the meeting that didn’t have a “reschedule” option, I used a customized event type that I call, “Meeting at Location.” I did tweak it by clicking “Share...Customize & Share” then added date-specific hours. I also used “within a date range” instead of my default “30 days into the future.” (I’ve scheduled other meetings in this fashion and they all have “reschedule” as an option.) This meeting has already happened, so I’ll chalk it off to a one-off incident.
Thanks, Kelsi.
