I am running Office 365 as a small business and trying to use my email address. Everything worked great with gmail and not with Microsoft. I have googled and tried everything people have recommended and nothing works. I disconnected the integration with Microsoft. Cleared cache and cookies, added it back in. I have added DNS records. 

Does anyone have suggestions?

In this case, I would recommend reaching out to our support team directly so they can look into specific errors our email provider is showing. They’re a bit more equipped to handle these sort of errors.
