Automatic timezone from IP location does not set start day of the week properly
I understood from this thread that based on the geographic location of the IP I am using calendly I should see the start day of the week accordingly. Unfortunately that is not the case. I see timezone as “Eastern European” and it matches my current time. Based on the VPN I use, I can visit calendly from Estonia or from Sweden for example but I still see start day of the week as Monday which should definitely be not the case in these regions.
The mismatch with the start day of the week can actually cause incorrect bookings if users are not careful. It would be very much useful if I could set this setting permanently based on my need.

Hi @Paving8-Frostbite8!
Thanks for reaching out on this - Couple things I want to double check:
If you visit the live booking page in an incognito window, does the same thing occur?
Are you visiting the live page or the preview page within your account? (Only clarifying as the preview page will reference based on your account settings, not the IP)
The list is also in the previous post, but I wanted to add it here as well - All other counties not included on this list will display as Monday-first.
Sunday-first Country List:
US
Canada
Latin American countries
China
Japan
Israel
Jamaica
Taiwan
Thailand
Hong Kong
Macau
Egypt
South Africa
Philippines
Estonia and Sweden are both not on this list, so they will display as Monday first. You mentioned that this should not be the case, is that correct?
As an added, I do know we have an internal ticket on adding this as a selectable feature - So I’ve added this post as support as well. Hopefully we’ll see this change in the future as well.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi David, thanks for quick response!
I tested this functionality in Incognito and can confirm- the same situation occurs for both estonian and swedish IP there as well.
I’m not sure if I understand the “live page” vs the “preview page” correctly. In incognito I tested it by logging in to my account and selecting Create → One off meeting from top left corner “Create” menu. In my main Chrome browser session I tested it by Calendly plugin: I opened the plugin and chose Create → “One-off meeting”
Good to hear that the ticket is already present, would be very good to have this development in near future ;)
Great - Thanks for checking all of this!
I’ll get this written up and sent over to our product team, I appreciate the taking extra steps!
Also just to clarify for the future - The “Preview Page” is what you see when you edit one of your existing events in Calendly like this:
The live page is what is seen when customers use the direct link to the event to book a time.
Thanks again @Paving8-Frostbite8 - Let me know if you have any other questions!
