Bi-Directional Sync breaking my Zapier automations

Hello!

I’ve noticed that when someone in my team reschedules a Calendly meeting directly in Google Calendar, using the bi-directional sync feature, then the Zapier automations don’t for that meeting.

For example, I have an automation in Zapier that uses the Zoom trigger “New Cloud Recording”. It works perfectly when a Calendly meeting is rescheduled through Calendly. However, when the meeting is rescheduled in Google Calendar, even if the team member records in in the Cloud, the automation doesn’t get triggered.

Anybody knows why this is happening?

I would appreciate if this could get fixed, because the bi-directionaly sync feature is amazing, it’s much easier to reschedule a meeting directly in Google Calendar than in Calendly, but right now me and my team cannot use it because it breaks this critical automation.

Thanks,
Ángel.-

Hi @angeliti - Thanks for reaching out!

Hm, I’m not sure what could be the cause here. Do events in Calendly show as rescheduled when they’re moved in the Google Calendar? Additionally, do the Zap Runs show any errors for previous times?

I do know that we’re seeing an issue with a small set of users where previous Zoom links remain active when an event is cancelled or rescheduled. But this applies to all events, not just the ones rescheduled through Google Calendar. I’d be curious to see if Zapier support can see anything additional on their side.

So far I haven’t seen any other reports on issues with Zapier+Bi-Directional Sync, so let me know if you have any other information you can share here.

@David yes, the events show as rescheduled when they Calendly they’re moved in the Google Calendar.

And the Zap Runs doesn’t show any errors, because the Zap is never triggered in the first place. As I said, it’s as if rescheduling the event in Google Calender broke the connection between Zoom and Zapier, so the Zap never runs.

I found this setting in Zoom:

I will try enabling it and see if this fixes the issues with the bi-directional sync 🤞
