I have an employee and would like to connect his google calendar (which is already integrated with Calendly) to a specific event type that we have, since he is responsible for providing that service alone (not any of our other event types). Is there a way to do this? (I don’t want to connect his calendar to all event types that we have set up, just to one in particular.) Does anyone know how to do this in Calendly? Thanks
Hi
In this case, it would be best to create a Managed Event in your account. This way, you can assign it to a specific user, but you can still be in control of the event settings. Once its assigned to that user, it will be generated on their specific connected calendar whenever a user books with them. You can read more about these managed events here: Managed events overview
Thanks, David. I received a couple replies stating that it was possible to do so without needing a specific user added by connecting the specific Google Calendar in the ‘Availability’ section and selecting the employee’s calendar; however, when I try to do so there is no option to select the employee’s calendar even though it has already been integrated with Calendly. Can you advise on approaching it via this route?
I would ask the people who suggested this directly but I can’t find their replies on this thread, they just arrived in my email and show up under notifications here. I don’t see a way to find their actual comments to respond to.
Hi
It looks like the two users who posted were removed due to causing spam. Communities across the internet are having issues with AI generated content being posted to forums and replying with erroneous information. These users posts have been removed because of it, so they cannot be replied to - Apologies for the inconvenience!
But to clarify, you are not able to connect a google calendar directly to an event. To assign an event to a user, it would need to be assigned to them through managed events, or be created under their account. Any events assigned to them or owned by them will merge with their google calendar automatically. Let me know if you have any questions on this!
Thanks, David, for clarifying!
To make sure I understand, in order to assign a managed event to my employee I would have to add him as a user/seat in Calendly, so I would have to upgrade my plan since I only have 1 user/seat currently?
Yes thats correct
Let me know if there is anything else I can assist with.
Hi
I think my case is related to the same question as
I have multiple Google Calendars (let’s say one for important events and one for non-important events).
Those 2 calendar are synced in my Calendly account (Settings / sync / conflicts).
I would like to create 2 Calendly links :
- One “Non urgent meetings” checking for conflicts in both my important and non-important Google calendar events (for “regular” clients)
- One “Urgent meetings” checking for conflicts in my important Google calendar events only (for “VIP” clients)
Is it possible in Calendly?
If not, by chance, would you have an idea how to find a solution.
Thanks a lot for your help,
Arthur
Hey
So the difficulty here is that any connected Calendars will effect all of your events - At this time there is not a way to assign events to specific calendars. However, I do think a great workaround is using our Book Over Meetings feature. This feature allows you to set specific meetings to be able to overlap other Calendly events, or events in your Calendar. So you can take all of your urgent meetings, and configure them to be able to be booked over any events from your non-important meetings.
I made an article on this that includes a full walkthrough here: Overlapping Meetings
Let me know if something like this works, or if you have any other questions.
Hey David.
I haven’t tested but that looks absolutely awesome for my use-case.
Thanks a lot, that is tremendously helpful and I couldn’t have found without you !!
