Question

Confirmation email defaults to gmail account

When someone asks me to find time on their Calendly calendar and I select a date/time, the confirmation always gets sent to my gmail account and not the iCloud email that I input into the invite. How do I prevent that?

Hi @Marci - Thanks for reaching out!

Are these accounts connected at all by chance? I’ve seen this happen before with users who connect their iCloud/Gmail accounts. Or are these totally separate emails?

Let me know!

Up until today, I had not created a Calendly account of my own. I have only ever used Calendly when someone else sends a link to their calendar and asks me to find time on it.

In ever instance, I have entered my icloud email or another email ( I have several) but the confirmation email always gets sent to my gmail account. It’s inconvenient because that gmail account is for a specific type of communication and not for either work or personal meetings. The email accounts are attached to separate calendars. I do not use the Google calendar.

My iCloud email is attached to my gmail account as a recovery account. But why does the app ignore the email I enter and always “replies” to the gmail?

Thanks for the quick reply and your help

Got it - thanks for the information!

The only other possibilities I could think of are:

  • If you have a calendar connected to your Calendly account, you can try removing it from this page: https://calendly.com/app/availability/calendar_settings
    • Once removed you can try testing a new booking to see if it sends to the correct email.
  • Since you mentioned that its listed as the recovery email - Does this happen with any other emails? Or is it just Calendly confirmation emails?

Outside of these possibilities, you can also reach out to our support team who can look into this further. They can check with our email service and try to track down where this is happening. You can either email support@calendly.com, or chat in directly from your account.

I would be sure to mention:

  • What events you’ve booked
  • Where the confirmation email was sent

The more information you can send to the support team, the better!

Let me know if you have any questions!
