I can’t seem to understand why the duration is causing me to not be able to book this event.
I can’t seem to understand why the duration is causing me to not be able to book this event.
Hi
The duration error here means that the total duration of the event cannot fit within the available time. So if your availability is set from 10am to 11am with a 1 hour duration, only 10am would be able to be booked.
If someone tried to book 10:05am with a 1 hour duration, the event would run to 11:05am, which would go beyond the availability you set for that day, causing the duration error.
Does that make sense? If you give me more details on the event I can look into it a bit more.
So I’m trying to create an event for a workshop. So I went through the process. The workshop is 90 minutes, and I then created a custom time calendar with the exact dates and times we scheduled the workshop. When I previewed the link, it was not there. I didn’t place a buffer or anything. So I am not sure why the duration is showing up. Also, in my calendar which is a google calendar I have the event on there for our purposes but I have it as FREE not BUSY. I need a placeholder so people don’t book with my other Calendly link during that time.
Understood. It still looks like its picking up an event at 10:00 thats blocking this time from appearing.
In this case, can you try adding a Free/Busy Rule for that calendar event to see if it opens up that 10am slot?
Using this will let the event book over any Calendar event that you specify.
Let me know!
Even when I do that it doesn’t work. Those meetings are even correct.
Got it, in this case the only thing I’d recommend is making sure your calendar connections and sub-calendars you’ve selected are correct: https://calendly.com/app/availability/calendar_settings
Outside of this, the next thing is getting in touch with our support team via chat or email. They’ll be able to look through your account, or start a screen share with you so they can dig into what might be going on.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
I have done that and my other calendar links that I have created in Calendly do work fine with my calendar. It just seems like when I create an event that is what happens. Yes I would like to speak to someone about this. I do need to get this resolved. Thank you
Will someone reach out to me?
