We have had 7 fake appointments scheduled this week. The names and emails seem legit. But when we call the customer for the appointment, either the phone number doesn’t work or the person we are calling is adamant that they didn’t schedule with us. Is anyone else having issues?

HI @Blisshoneymoons - I haven’t seen any reports on this recently. I’d recommend reaching out to our support team and report this in case this continues to happen. You can email them at support@calendly.com or chat in with them directly.

I’ll leave this thread open in case anyone else has seen this!

I did reach out. They said there’s no way to prevent fake appointments from being set. We can only block those people after the fact. I have a friend who uses Calendly who is having the same issue. And there’s a whole thread on Reddit about it. It’s beyond frustrating. We can’t afford to have our calendar blocked by fake appointments. All three appointments we had on the books today were fake.

Hi @Blisshoneymoons - Could you link me that reddit thread? I’d like to send it over to our teams internally so we can get some extra eyes on it.

I do know some features are getting pushed out soon to help alleviate some spammers/bad actors from booking. I’ll update the community once we have some more information.

You can find it here.  If you google “calendly fake appointments” there are tons of threads about it everywhere. We’re probably going back to our old system. We can’t afford to have our calendar blocked by fake appointments.

We just had the same issue with 3 appointments in the past week. We contacted the person via email and both let us know they did not book the appointment and both phone numbers were fake. This has been super frustrating as it has blocked off our calendar. All 3 were booked the day before.

Hi @Blisshoneymoons and @Elyse102 just following up here — Calendly now lets you require email verification for event types to reduce spam and fake bookings. Thanks for sharing your feedback earlier; this update was driven by your and others’ requests.
