Feature Request: Direct Event Duplication & Client History Tracker (Reschedule/Cancellation Log)
As a user who relies heavily on Calendly to manage recurring and individual sessions with repeat clients, managing ongoing client relationships currently requires significant manual data entry and external record-keeping. Two key missing features create friction in our daily workflow:
- Inability to Duplicate/Copy Existing Bookings: When scheduling a new session for a returning client, there is no option to quickly duplicate a past session onto a new date. Every time a repeat client books or needs a session set up, I have to re-enter their name, email address, physical address/location, and session parameters manually from scratch.
- Comparison: Google Calendar allows one-click event duplication where you simply adjust the date and time. It feels like Calendly, a platform built exclusively for scheduling, should offer this core capability.
- Lack of Client Audit Trail / Reschedule History: When a client repeatedly reschedules or cancels sessions, Calendly overwrites or removes the original event rather than maintaining an accessible audit log. There is no central client history view to see:
- How many times a specific client has rescheduled.
- The historical reasons provided in their reschedule form responses.
Proposed Solutions:
- Quick Duplicate Action: Add a "Duplicate Session" or "Book Again" button next to past events in the Admin/Meetings dashboard that pre-fills the client's saved details (Name, Email, Custom Form Fields) into a new event slot.
- Client Contact History View: Add a tab at the top of the client information that includes
- Past Session: Total number of completed, canceled, and rescheduled meetings associated with that client's email.
- Historical log of custom form responses (including reschedule reasons).
Business Impact:
Implementing these features would save service providers hours of redundant data entry every week and give us the tools we need to enforce cancellation policies and manage boundary-crossing clients directly inside Calendly.
