Hi @bbzbali - Thanks for reaching out!
At this time, the only way to change the duration of the event is by cancelling and rebooking that event. However, we just released an update for Google Calendar users to be able to edit the duration and time of events by adjusting it in their connected calendar, and we’re working on getting this added to Outlook. I don’t have a timeframe on exactly when, but we can expect something soon.
In the meantime, the Outlook Sync will look similar to what we have for Google, so you can read the overview for this here:
Let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you for your reply David.
To be honest, we would’ve appreciated having this information much earlier – before we invested significant time setting up Calendly and onboarding our team.
We already have two team members actively using Calendly in live client operations, and we were planning to onboard additional staff in the coming days.
This is therefore a major setback, as we’ve now realized that such a fundamental function – the ability to adjust the duration of an existing appointment – is simply not available.
Like many others, we naturally assumed that any modern scheduling tool in 2025 would support this. The fact that it’s currently only possible with Google Calendar, and that there is no timeline at all for Outlook support, is a real disadvantage for us.
In our experience, “no timeline” often means it's not even on the roadmap and may take months or even years to be implemented – if at all.
The suggested workaround of canceling and rebooking is unfortunately not a viable solution. Technically, it may work, but the automatic cancellation and re-invite emails make us look highly unprofessional to clients.
Conclusion: Calendly has a lot of great potential – but in its current state, it’s not usable for our workflow. We sincerely hope this issue will be addressed in the near future. Now we are going back to a single standard license, not onboarding any more colleagues and looking for a quick solution. Thank you very much!
