Question

multiple locations

We are trying to create one calendar with multiple locations that someone can reserve a meeting for at the same time. Example - building left side & building right side. While someone has a meeting on the left side, someone else may have a meeting on the right side. No more than two meetings will be taking place at the same time slot (one in each location left/right). We have Calendly linked to our Google calendar but are having an issue configuring this (left/right location designation) in Calendly. The issue, for example, is that as soon as the 7am spot is booked on the left side, it is no longer available on the calendar, so no one else can book the 7am on the right side either. Any help is appreciated!! Thank you!

You’re running into an important limitation of how Calendly works today.

Calendly always treats one user + one calendar as a single “resource” (one person). That means:

  • As soon as a 7:00 am slot is booked on that user’s event, Calendly blocks 7:00 am for all other event types owned by that same user, even if they’re “left side” vs “right side.”
  • Calendly doesn’t currently support two independent “rooms” (left/right) with capacity 1 each on a single host calendar.

So what you’re seeing is expected behavior, not a misconfiguration. Here are some workable setups to explore…

Option 1 (recommended): Treat each side as its own “host”

This is the only way to get true “one booking in Left + one booking in Right at the same time”:

  1. Create two separate Calendly users/resources:
    • User A (or “Building - Left side”) connected to Google Calendar A
    • User B (or “Building - Right side”) connected to Google Calendar B
  2. Create a 1:1 event type for each:
    • “Left side - 30 min”
    • “Right side - 30 min”
  3. Share:
    • Either two separate links (Left link / Right link), or
    • A Team page that shows both event types so people can choose their side.

Because each side is a different “host,” 7:00 am Left and 7:00 am Right can both be booked without blocking each other.

Option 2: Single event with capacity 2 (if rooms don’t strictly matter)

If it’s acceptable that Calendly only enforces “up to two bookings per time” (but doesn’t know which is Left vs Right):

  1. Create a Group event type.
  2. Set Invitee limit = 2 for each time slot.
  3. Add a required question like: “Which location do you want? (Left / Right)”.

Calendly will allow up to 2 bookings per time slot, and you can manually honor Left/Right based on their answer. This won’t prevent both invitees from choosing “Left,” so it’s only viable if that’s okay operationally.
