Question

Preventing duplicate phone number fields on booking form

Hi Support Team,

I am reaching out because I would like to prevent my booking form from asking for the client's phone number twice.

I currently use a workflow that sends an SMS reminder 1 day before the meeting. However, this setup seems to trigger a second phone number requirement on the intake form. Since I cater to busy professionals, I want to streamline this experience and avoid any double-entry.

Is there a way to consolidate this so the phone number is collected only once and automatically applies to the reminder workflow?

Thank you in advance for your help,

Carine

Hi @Carine23233 - Thanks for reaching out

The SMS workflow automatically adds a “Send text messages to” field to the booking form. If you also manually added a Phone number question under Invitee Questions, both fields will appear.

To fix this:

  1. Open the event type’s Booking page options.
  2. Go to Invitee Questions.
  3. Remove the manually added Phone number question.
  4. Keep the SMS workflow enabled and preview the booking page.

The phone number entered in the SMS field will be used for the reminder, and will still be collected by Calendly on your Meetings page. Note that invitees must opt in to SMS, so Calendly does not allow this SMS phone field to be made required.
