God, I hate this app. It's like this company is actively trying to keep me from figuring it out. I've never found something so poorly supported. Every video tutorial needs to be updated, buttons are missing, menus are gone, piecemeal speakers are filmed at different times, etc. There are endless links to more tutorials with other versions. It took me forever to find this forum because the chatbot (also useless) wouldn't let me pass. Does corporate even try to use this app from ground zero? Hell no, they don't. They're clueless. No one cares about releasing current documentation.

Things I want to do:

  1. Integrate Zoom. It's hooked up, yet it will not import my current recurring sessions. Some integration!  Where's the documentation on this? Calendly is explained by those who built it, not for first-timers.
  2. Set up meetings! Where's the video for this with current menus and buttons? Do I schedule in Calendly or Zoom? Nothing makes sense. No videos for this either.
  3. I want a widget on my website with the calendar.
  4. Clients book through the calendar.
  5.
  6.
  7.
  8. This shouldn't take me half a day of being frustrated and a long ass forum post. Also, fix your forum formatting! I’ve never seen such a half-assed annoying forum process.

Hi @Ihatethisapp,

We have shared your feedback with leadership and you have been heard loud and clear. We are very sorry you’ve had a poor experience navigating our service. While we have a built in feature navigator when you first sign up, another good place to start is our New user guide. That said, a brief description of Calendly might clear up some of the confusion here. Calendly is an automated scheduling tool that essentially sits on top of your connected calendar. It simply books meetings based on your availability and meeting parameters you set up. What it is not is a one-stop-shop for all things online conferencing. Think about how scheduling online meetings normally works. Often times there are multiple emails just to arrive at a time, then the host has to manually put a meeting on their calendar and share that out. With Calendly you simply define the type of meeting you want and then share out a link with your invitees. Calendly does the rest, it is a set it and forget it type of tool. More on that here → How does Calendly work?

A few answers to your questions:

  1. Calendly does not currently support recurring meetings. There is no way to ‘import’ your Zoom settings into Calendly. We are simply a automated scheduling tool, not a video conferencing tool.
  2. There are a few ways to schedule a meeting in Calendly but the normal workflow is to create an Event Type then share a scheduling link with you intended invitee. Then they have the ability to schedule a meeting with you without you needing manage that process. More on that here → Setting up your first event
  3. You can certainly embed your booking page on your website with Calendly. If you are looking for a widget that shows your calendar without the ability to book time with you, then that would be something to set up with your calendar client. More on embedding Calendly →  Embed options overview and if you need more details, check out this page → How to embed and customize Calendly on your website
  4. Correct! Clients book through Calendly once you’ve shared your booking link with them.

We are sorry you’ve had a such a frustrating time with setting up your account. Feel free to ask more questions here if you need more help!
