Hi Calendly Support,

We're testing Calendly for company-wide use, but we’re unable to connect our Microsoft Exchange 2013 account hosted by DomainFactory.

We followed the steps in this guide:
https://help.calendly.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037900034
—including using the EWS URL—but the connection still fails.

How could we solve this? Can you help us troubleshoot this?

We are receiving the following error message: “We weren’t able to connect to your Exchange Calendar. If you’re sure your password is right, you might have to fill out some of the additional fields above.”

Hi @Explorer48124 - Thanks for reaching out! Sorry that you’re running into issues here.

I’m sure you’ve already seen the requirements for exchange connections, but I wanted to ensure that your instance follows these guidelines:

  • Your Exchange account must utilize an EWS connection. ActiveSync connections are not currently supported.
  • If you are using Exchange via Amazon WorkMail, this endpoint acts on a version of Exchange that is not supported at this time.
  • Exchange IMAP/POP connections are currently unsupported
  • If your Exchange calendar connection has a 2FA/MFA set up enabled, you will need to utilize our Microsoft Outlook Plug-In (for Windows users) instead.

If these all match correctly - The next thing we’ll want to see is if your Exchange Server is located behind a firewall or not. If it is, it may be necessary to allow list our Exchange related IP addresses. These IP addresses can be obtained by contacting our support team, as they are not shared publicly.

Please note that if your server is behind a firewall AND only accessible via a VPN connection, the Calendly/Exchange connection will not work. But we also offer a desktop plugin for windows users as a workaround.

Let me know if you have any questions!
