I changed my profile picture, which works when someone goes to my calendly page - but when I paste the link into LinkedIn DMs, it shows my old photo. Anyone know why - would be greatly appreciative of any help.

In this case, you can use Linkedin’s post inspector page to refresh the information they have. You can use this tool here: https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/
Just enter the link you’d like to update, and select inspect. It should work from there!
