There was an excellent suggestion four months ago to enable users to set meetings to start at 5 minutes past the hour.  What is the status of the availability of this feature, team Calendly?

Use Case:

  • I often have hours in a row of virtual meetings but I don’t need a 30 or 60 minute break.  What I do need is 5 minutes between meeting for quick follow-up or a bio break.  As it stands now, I am either showing up late, asking for a couple of minutes for a pit stop, or putting unnecessarily long and unproductive holds in my calendar from time to time.
  • The current setup is inadequate because if I set 25 minute meetings, it puts them at all kinds of odd times (e.g. 1:45, 2:10, 2:35, etc.).

As much as I like using Calendly, I will look for other options if this capability is not provided.  That’s not a threat (hey, I am only one user); rather, it’s an indication of how much I value the capability for the way I run my calendar.

Thank you.

Hi @anr,

I don’t have any updates for you at this time. I can suggest a workaround though. You have the ability to set buffers to 5 or 10 minutes for before and/or after a meeting. You can combine this with setting meeting increments to 5, 10 , 15, etc. minutes. That setting is in your booking page options. Between these two settings your should be able to achieve what you are looking for. I’m leaving resources for both buffers and meeting increments below. If you run into any hurdles come back and let us know, we will work with you.

@anr - The other possible solution would be to set your schedule to start 5 minutes late with 25 or 55 minute meetings and a 30 or 60 minute increment respectively. I just tested it on my side and sure enough if I set my schedule from 8am to 4pm with a 25 minute duration and a 30 minute increment, I’m seeing available blocks at 9:05, 9:35, 10:05, etc. going to either half past or the hour as intended.

Give that a try and let us know how it goes!

Thanks, @Sean Marlin and @jillian, much appreciated!

Sean, I tried the 5 minute buffer before with 25 minute meetings and they still show up on the hour and half hour.

jillian, how do you set your schedule to start 5 minutes late?  I googled and didn’t see an obvious response.

Thank you both.

Hi @anr!

Check out this article for information on how to modify and apply your schedule. For mine, I changed it from 9am to 9:05am and it did the trick.

Let me know if you need more help!

Thanks, @jillian!  It’s klugey, but it works.  :)

Thanks for your help too, @Sean Marlin.

Much appreciated.
