Question

Why can I no longer share rescheduling links from the desktop/web app?

With a recent update of the Calendly website, I’ve lost the ability to share rescheduling links with our clients. (It seems it is still possible in the iOS app). I rely heavily on this feature. Here are steps to reproduce:

  1. In a web browser, navigate to a scheduled event on the “Meetings” page.
  2. Click the “Reschedule” button in the event details pane which pops up on the right.
  3. A dialog appears asking if you want to “Share times to meet” or “Reschedule meeting now.”

Previously, I would choose “Reschedule meeting now” and then copy the URL from the browser. This URL would take a form like https://calendly.com/reschedulings/{{reschedule-uuid}} I could paste this into my own email communication or text message with the client so they could easily reschedule.

However, now the URL is of a page that requires me to be logged in and cannot be shared with the client. See the attached screenshot which shows that page and its URL. The URL is of the form
https://calendly.com/app/meetings/user/me?selected={{event-uuid}}&pane=meeting_details&paneState={{state-identifier}}

I also checked the “Share times to meet” option but it is a dead end for me. It looks like it simply cancels the event and asks the client to create a new one. This makes no sense especially because we require clients to pay a $100 deposit to schedule and this would require them to pay it twice.

Any advice on this? It doesn’t seem to be an intentional policy change since it’s still working very nicely in the iOS app. Please help. Thanks!

Also just a sidenote. In the first screenshot, you’ll also notice that it shows “Contact Questions 0/5 answered”. It does this every time I go to this reschedule page but if I go back and click through to it a second time, all the questions are answered. They should always be answered since this is a rescheduling of an existing event for with the attendee already answered these questions. It seems like a bug. This is just incidental and something I can deal with since there’s a workaround (clicking back and re-clicking to the reschedule page)

In case anybody finds this, here’s an update: I contacted Calendly support about the issue and they confirmed that they have removed the ability to get a rescheduling link in the web app. I cannot understand why they would do this and I asked them for clarification. So far I haven’t gotten any. They advised that I use the mobile app to get this rescheduling link which doesn’t work for me because I manage several different Calendly accounts on behalf of my staff. I’ll post an update here if/when this gets resolved.

I just discovered this same thing, the Chatbot told me it could be recreated using API or Webhooks, but that’s above my tech level personally - I asked if anyone had discovered a workaround for it myself.

Yeah I will likely update some of my own software to use the API to get the link. Fortunately, I have the tech skills (and help from AI of course) to do that. However, I’d much rather Calendly add it back to the website and can’t understand why they’d remove it.
