Yesterday, I organized a 1 hour and a half group meeting, but the time finished after one hour. Why? I am paying for this!
Hi
Just to confirm, did the Zoom or Google Meeting close after an hour? If you could send some more details on this I can dig into it from there.
Hi
yes, it was a Google Meeting: we received an advise that told us that we had 15 minutes left and then a second one that told us we had 5 minutes, I think, and then, when the 5 minutes finished, it collapsed. We started at about 18:55 and it collapsed exactly 60 minutes after, even if I had booked for 1 hour and 1 half (from 19 to 20:30).
Moreover, after the meeting collapsed, I tried to book a new one, so I had to cancel the previous one to free the slot between 20 and 21 pm, but the slot wouldn’t appear free anyway… so that we had to move on Whatsapp videocall… not very comfortable).
Thank you for your help!
Hi
It sounds like you were running into the Time Limit for Google Meet. Here is an excerpt from their documentation:
If you don't have a Google Meet subscription
On a computer, you can host:
- One-on-one meetings for up to 24 hours.
- Meetings with three or more participants for up to 60 minutes.
Tip: At 50 minutes, everyone will receive a chime and message notification that the meeting is about to end. To extend the meeting, the host can upgrade their Google Account. Otherwise, the meeting will end at 60 minutes.
For Google Workspace Individual subscribers
You can host one-on-one meetings and group meetings with three or more participants for up to 24 hours.
For context, Calendly does not put any hard limits on your meetings, once the meeting is created with Zoom or Google Meet, it uses their settings to generate the video meeting.
You would need to look into your Google account from here, let me know if you have any questions!
