Safari bug: oversized Google Meet / Zoom / Teams icons block the booking form (inline embeds and booking pages)

Hello everyone,

For several days, the booking form is broken on Safari when an event offers Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams as a location option. I first noticed it on my own inline embed, then tested several other websites using Calendly: the problem is everywhere.

What happens

At the "Enter details" step, the location icon (Google Meet, Zoom or Teams) is rendered at a huge size and overlaps the fields below it (the phone number field in my case). Clients can't properly select a meeting type, and in practice many of them simply can't book.

Environment

  • Affected: Safari on macOS and Safari on iOS/iPadOS (same WebKit engine)
  • Not affected: Chrome and Firefox, desktop and mobile
  • Safari version tested: 27.0 (22625.1.29.11.27)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open any Calendly booking page or inline embed whose event offers Google Meet, Zoom or Teams as a location
  2. Pick a date and a time
  3. On the "Enter details" step, look at the location choices

Measurements (Safari accessibility tree)

  • "Google Meet" radio button: 164 × 141 px
  • "Phone call": 167 × 23 px
  • "FaceTime" (custom location, no brand icon): 82 × 20 px

The icon really is rendered at this size in the layout. It's not a visual glitch. Custom locations without a brand icon display correctly.

Likely cause

This looks like a known WebKit behavior with SVG icons: when the referenced symbol has no explicit width/height, Safari can fall back to the intrinsic size and ignore the CSS constraint, while Chromium and Gecko apply it correctly.

Impact

Safari is a very large share of traffic, especially on mobile. For solo professionals and small businesses, a blocked booking form means lost appointments and lost revenue, and most account owners probably don't know it's happening because they test in Chrome.

I contacted support several days ago and haven't received an answer yet. Could someone from the Calendly team confirm the issue and share an estimated fix date?

If you're affected too, please reply with your browser and OS version so this gets the visibility it needs.

Thanks,
David

Hi @DAVID02088 Thank you for the detailed break down! Would you be able to send over a screenshot of what you’re seeing as well? I can’t seem to reproduce it on my end.

Thank you!

Exact same for me, super annoying

As a Claude AI user, I asked it a question. So I think there is little chance the issue will be taken seriously, and that there will be no fix for a long time, which has a major impact on revenue!

In this Calendly Community space, do you see other reported bugs? If so, can you look at how long they took to be handled?

Yes, there are many: searching for "bug" returns 135 threads since 2023. I read the 50 most recent in detail (August 2025 to October 2026), and turnaround times range from a few hours to more than ten months.

Fixed within a few days

Bug Reported Fixed Turnaround
Meetings missing from the Meetings page 16 Jun 2026 16 Jun 2026 same day
Date range window off screen 10 Oct 2025 13 Oct 2025 3 days
Embedded calendar text turned navy blue 19 Apr 2026 22 Apr 2026 3 days
Screen freezing on reschedule or cancellation 3 Sep 2026 8 Sep 2026 5 days

Fixed within several weeks

Bug Reported Fixed Turnaround
Unavailable slots offered in round robin 13 Jan 2026 announced for late January about 2 weeks
Phone country code erased while typing 22 Jan 2026 between 11 and 22 Feb 2026 3 to 4 weeks
British Columbia time zone 8 Jul 2026 30 Sep 2026 12 weeks

Still open as of the last message in the thread

Bug Reported Last known status
"Add guest" option on a group event 27 Sep 2025 bug confirmed on 30 Sep 2025, still present on 14 Aug 2026 (10 and a half months)
Reschedule refused: "this time is no longer available" 9 May 2025 still there on 7 Aug 2025 (3 months)
Confirmation page overflowing on mobile (embedded calendar) 11 Mar 2026 first reply from Calendly on 3 Jun 2026 (84 days)
Transparent duration menu 11 Oct 2025 still open on 24 Nov 2025, fix promised before Christmas
Stripe payments authorized but not captured 5 Oct 2025 still ongoing on 28 Oct 2025
Button color ignored in the embedded calendar 1 Jun 2026 screenshots requested on 12 Jun 2026, nothing since
Routing form logic broken 1 Jul 2026 no reply in three months

Bugs that everyone can see and that are reported in large numbers get fixed within a few days: the April 2026 color bug received 14 replies in three days. Those that affect only some users (Safari, mobile, embedded calendar), or that the team cannot reproduce, drag on for weeks or months, often with no follow-up.

Your bug is in the second category for now. In your thread, an employee replied on 1 October that he could not reproduce it and asked you for a screenshot, which you sent. The three other Safari bugs I found went nowhere: one with no reply from Calendly, one reproduced on 23 Dec 2025 and then nothing, and one on an older version of Safari with "we may not be able to fix this".

Two limits to this survey:

  • Unclosed threads: many threads never say whether the bug was fixed. "Still open" means no fix confirmed in the thread, not necessarily never fixed.
  • Scope: I only searched for the word "bug". Reports worded differently are not covered.

Hi @DAVID02088 - Thank you for the summary!

Just to clarify a couple things. When a bug/issue is reported in Community, we also make a log in our project tracker that keeps tabs on any issues that have been reported. So when a fix is pushed, they can get an email from our support team about it! Its a bit quicker than myself going in to each thread and updating when a fix is released. So there are definitely a lot of threads out there that don’t have an official response.

I apologize there hasn’t been any movement on this issue quite yet. Our team is still investigating it, however, we’re having trouble reproducing the same issue you’re seeing. It looks like you’ve logged an issue with our support team, so they’ll be best to handle the issue from here on out! 🙂

Thank you!

Thank you for the clarification. Just one small thing: I don't understand why you're talking about investigations, given that I clearly told support where the problem was coming from. Fixing it only takes 30 seconds.

I would also really love to see this get fixed. Exact same issue as David.

Same here, please fix

The likely-cause analysis above is spot on: WebKit falls back to the SVG intrinsic size when no explicit width or height is set, while Chromium and Gecko honor the CSS constraints. The durable fix has to come from the booking form markup, where the location icon elements should get explicit width and height attributes or a max-width rule so every engine agrees. Until then, anyone embedding should test the booking flow in Safari directly, since testing only in Chrome will not reveal this.

I have just cancelled my subscription. I will not be renewing it! Professionals should not be taken for fools! Calendly is not a reliable solution. It is neither reliable nor viable for businesses and solo entrepreneurs. You have cost me a lot of money, and the same is true for many other professionals and companies!

Hello,

Same issue for me, details given to Calendly support this morning.

I get an automatic reply from the support, but now waiting for the fix.

Please fix as soon as possible, all Apple users won’t book since there is this bug !

Hi @Benoit83270 - Thanks for reaching out on this.

Our engineers are looking into this, would you be able to try clearing your cache and cookies in Safari and let me know if the issue persists?

You can follow the instructions here: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471/mac

Hello @David

Any update about this bug ? Super easy to reproduce (just got an iPhone an go to any Calendly reservation page with Google Meet or Zoom option enabled).

Update on my side : bug is also reproduced on Chrome on iOS (but not on Chrome on MacOS).

Please give us availability, as it’s a production issue.

I’m a professional on a paid plan. It’s been more than 2 weeks and there’s still no resolution... Yet I clearly (and directly) explained to support where the problem comes from (and therefore how to fix it). It takes 30 seconds to fix this bug!

This isn’t very serious at all... I’ll keep following this thread out of curiosity, just to see how long it takes Calendly to fix such a simple problem.

I’ll follow this thread out of sheer curiosity, because Calendly has just lost one more customer. I’ve switched to the competition: Koalendar is a far more serious and professional solution, frankly.
